Exhibition “What’s The Story?” in KMSKA

14/10/2024

While Belgian artist James Ensor moved in for his Big Exhibition ‘In your wildest dreams. Ensor beyond impressionism’, a small but curious contemporary art exhibition opened in his apartment. Curators Nico Van Hout and Erno Vroonen have put together a successful mix of works by living artists and masters from the KMSKA collection who have had a significant influence on them. Museum guide Ihor Biloushchenko, as an artist by profession (PHD in Art and Neurolinguistics at the University of Antwerp), is particularly partial to narratives of contemporary art. He will guide us through the exhibition and familiarise us with its concept, the interweaving of meanings, right down to the ‘boiling kettle with a whistle’.

In the very Limburg town of Hasselt, there is a wonderful, well known Fashion Museum. Literally two streets away from it is another museum that deserves a spotlight. Especially since it underwent a total renovation in 2020, done with great taste. I sympathise with the...

Designer duo Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel in the Museum “Z33” in Hasselt

‘The Wet Wing’ - when silk becomes a river There's something shimmering in the historic space of Vleugel 58. It's not just light playing on fabrics, nor is it a random glow on marble. It is silk turned into water, a river touched by the hands of Daniel Dewar and...
